How the COVID-19 relief bill will attempt to change the world

You may have heard about Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election, as well as him taking office on January 20th 2021.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden ran against each other in the election, leaving Biden with a presidential victory.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a huge struggle for everyone, big or small. As you can probably imagine, it would be very hard to be the president of the United States right now, with more stress and work to add onto an already very difficult job.

Trump has signed the COVID-19 relief bill back in March 2020, which is now leaving president Joe Biden with responsibility. This bill is going to mostly help out those who are struggling from the pandemic and those who are unemployed at the moment. The bill — entitled the “COVID relief package” — is still in the stages of getting passed in Congress.

The idea of this bill is that adults who are earning less than $75,000 a year will get a direct payment of $2,000. This will help pay for their needs, since the pandemic is causing restaurants and small businesses to close down. Some of the costs that these people need to pay for are rent, bills, taxes, and the ability to be able to put food on the table for themselves and their families. Those who are earning between $75,000-$87,000 will be given a smaller check.

This new bill will be designed mainly for those who were unemployed due to the COVID-19 regulations and were not getting paid for a period of time, or are still unemployed and not getting paid.

A very good example would be those who work full time at restaurants. These employees will get this check since the bill was created to help out those staff who had no choice to work or not due to restaurants shutting down.

Back in late March and throughout the spring, restaurants were shut down by the government due to COVID-19, so then those employees were left unemployed until their restaurants started to open back up as it got into early summer.

There is $1.9 trillion coming from the government that will be passed out as individual checks to those who are in need of money during these tough times.

The unemployment rate was about 7.9 percent as of September 2020 — approximately 12.6 million people. 12.6 million people were left unemployed because of a virus!

As the vaccine is starting to be given out to the higher end healthcare workers, I would say that a lot of people are trying to do as much as they can to stop the spread of COVID-19 and try to get back to normal as soon as possible.
